2027–28 FAFSA Early Access
The 2027–28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is currently in a testing period. Students can access the form early by requesting to participate in the online beta test.
Send your students to StudentAid.gov/joinbeta to request early access.The 2027–28 FAFSA form will be available to everyone by Oct. 1, 2026.
2027–28 FAFSA® Beta Testing
Beginning in August 2026, we opened the 2027–28 FAFSA form to a limited number of students and contributors for early testing. This beta testing period will allow us to ensure our systems are performing as expected before making the form available to everyone.
There are two phases of beta testing. In the first phase, we tested the form with a small number of students and families through existing partnerships with community organizations, schools, and other groups.
Now, in the second phase of testing, anyone can request to participate on StudentAid.gov. We'll admit groups of participants throughout the testing period.
